Sunday, Ferbruary 7th,  is Boy Scout Sunday and marks the 100th anniversary of Boy Scouts of America. Scouts participating in the service today are scoutmaster Rick Ryther; scouts Jeff Bianchine, Jr. and Andrew Wrede; cub scouts Thomas Wrede and Bobby Bianchine.

Also today the souper bowl collection will be taken at the end of the service. Worship will be followed by coffee, soup and salad, and the FOCUS Annual Meeting downstairs in the Assembly Room. Valentine candles created by FOCUS Breakfast guests will be available for sale.

Haiti – Thank you for your support! To date, we have collected $1,132 for rescue, recovery and rebuilding in Haiti. In addition to this amount, the mission committee sent $500 to the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance for a WPC total of $1,632. Donations are still being accepted and you are welcome to use the envelopes in the pews for this purpose. Haiti will be on our hearts and in our prayers for a long time!

Schuyler Inn Party: Today for veterans and families: 1 p.m., set-up; 2 p.m., crafts; 3 p.m., bingo and continuation of crafts for interested children. See Marianne Rings or Lois Wilson for more info.

An ‘Ounce of Prevention:’ A Dialogue with the Albany County Executive & Colleagues on Helping to Prevent Future Problems. This program will be held at Westminster on Feb. 25. FOCUS Church members are encouraged to attend, to distribute the flyer (found on the Chestnut Street hall table) and to help find speakers who can identify service needs and to discuss public private partnerships and volunteer opportunities.

The Trinity Day Care Board is searching for qualified applicants for the Director’s position for appointment April 1. Resumes should be sent to: Search Committee, Trinity UMC, 235 Lark St., Albany NY 12210.

FOCUS Interfaith Food Pantry: During the month of February Westminster is asked to donate toothpaste. Donations may be left in the bin located in the Chestnut Street hallway.

Flowers: The chart for 2010 is in the Welles Room for those wishing to request flowers for a particular Sunday, either as a memorial or in celebration of a special event. The cost is $30 per vase. You may donate one vase or both vases. Please sign-up on the chart or call the church office.
