Early Life: Dorothy Davies was born and educated in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania in 1910. In her youth, she was active in the Girl Scouts in Canonsburg.

Family: Dorothy was married to Willis McCullough for 42 years. In 1980, she married James Dorrance. She has one child, David Willis McCullough, a consultant to the Book­of-the-Month Club. Both David and his wife Frances are writers and editors. She has two grandchildren - Ben, who is a programmer and Webmaster in New York City, and Katie, who is a social worker in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Career: Mrs. Dorrance has been a full-time homemaker, an outgoing, giving and friendly person.

Volunteer Activities: When her son was young, she was involved in cub scouting. At Westminster, Dorothy has been active in the service guilds. She has served on the Westminster Board of Deacons, was a crib room volunteer for about 25 years, worked as a Focus Food Pantry volunteer, was a Red Cross Bloodmobile volunteer, and co­chaired a July 2000 Westminster social event.

 Senior Activities: Until recently, Dorothy, enjoyed knitting. In her senior years, Dorothy also has continued to participate in the Troy chapter of PEO (Professional Educational Organization). She actively participates in exercise and game programs at Beverwyck, and reads for two or three hours each day At Beverwyck, she seeks out new residents as dinner partners. She serves on the Beverwyck ecumenical worship committee.

Dorothy Davies McCullough Dorrance is a gracious woman, loved and respected by all who meet her. She "likes to make friends." An ardent Welshman, she has a very warm, outgoing, giving personality. That personality has been at work in her many volunteer activities at her church and food pantry.
