Senior Lifetime Achievement Awards
Since 1998 the Capital District Senior Issues Forum has annually honored a group of older senior citizens for their lifetime achievements. The Forum is an interfaith and community initiative of individuals and organizations brought together to identify issues and advocate for older seniors living in a variety of housing options. The Forum office was at Westminster from 1998 to July 2000.
The 6th Annual Senior Recognition Ceremony will be held on October 21, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Road, Albany. Nominations are due by June 15, 2003 and should be mailed to Ms. Vicki Avery, c/o Parkland Garden Apartments, 325 Kings Road, Schenectady, NY 12304. Westminster members may also contact Lois Wilson, a member of the Forum Steering Committee.
The 19 Westminster honorees listed below are among 184 persons from 82 faith communities, honored from 1998 through 1992. All are 85 years of age or older, who have accomplished many things over their lifetimes that serve as examples to us all. The honorees were nominated by religious institutions, organizations, individual Forum participants, friends, family members and housing facility administrators.
